Dr. Tiwari has expertise in the general areas of polymer, corrosion, and adhesive bonding. He is adept at designing and executing experiments using a variety of methodologies and instruments including GPC, DSC, TGA, FT-IR, Raman Spectroscopy, SEM/EDXA, XPS and AES. Dr. Tiwari completed his doctoral coursework at Virginia Tech where he wrote his dissertation on the Thermal Stability of Anodic Oxide Coatings. As a graduate student, he worked on a high-profile ambitious High-Speed Civil Transport (HSCT) plane project sponsored jointly by NASA and Boeing. Based on his research, he proposed a thermal treatment method to improve the strength and durability of adhesively bonded Ti-alloy joints.
Prior to joining Chemir, Dr. Tiwari worked as a Research Scientist/Chemist at AdTech Systems Research, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio. While there, he collaboratively investigated the use of Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy as a non-destructive analytical technique for evaluating adhesively bonded joints. He also evaluated and performed chemical and electrochemical pretreatment of metals, environmental exposure, mechanical testing and post-failure analysis of adhesively bonded joints.
In 2003, Dr. Tiwari joined Chemir as an Analytical Chemist. He has since been promoted to Senior Analytical Chemist, Associate Scientist, and then Scientist. Dr. Tiwari serves as one of Chemir’s polymer experts and has worked on numerous projects involving polymer deformulation, identification, and characterization. He has extensive experience with molecular weight and thermal characterizations of polymers.
While at Chemir, Dr. Tiwari has participated in numerous litigation support activities including the design and preparation of investigative studies to providing expert testimony both in deposition and in the courtroom.
