ST. LOUIS (February 2010) —Chemir now certifies grease interceptors according to the specification of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). This is in addition to the Plumbing and Drainage Institute (PDI) and the International Association of Plumbers and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) grease trap certifications. Manufacturers are required to periodically submit grease traps for testing. Chemir installs the trap into a compliant drainage system and verifies its capacity to efficiently remove grease to meet quality standards held by CSA, PDI and IAPMO. Using documented procedures, Chemir provides data needed to obtain and maintain certification for each unit design. This data ensures that a quality product is sold to the consumer.
