Chemir Scientists Present Failure

Investigation & Case Studies at Pittcon 2011

ST. LOUIS , MO (February 2011 ) -Chemir will be presenting and exhibiting at the 2011 Pittcon Exposition and Conference, to be held March 13-18 in Atlanta, GA. Pittcon brings together over 20,000 attendees in the largest annual conference for laboratory scientists, as they learn about the latest in analytical technology and instrumentation.

As part of the Pittcon 2011 Technical Program, Chemir scientist Benjamin Paulson will present an oral session on polymers and plastics, Thursday, March 17 at 3:55 PM. Entitled “Application of GC/MS, FTIR and 1H-NMR in a Failure Investigation of a Polycarbonate Component”, this presentation will cover the analytical approach and methodology used in investigating a plastic problem with cracking and yellowing.

Chemir’s experts will be available during Pittcon at Booth #1247 to discuss challenging projects regarding deformulation, contaminant identification, failure analysis and polymer testing. For over 50 years Chemir has solved these types of tough problems in a wide variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, food/beverage, personal care, plastic, coating, medical device and consumer products.

Pittcon attendees will also get an opportunity to hear examples of these solutions, during a Chemir seminar on Wednesday, March 16, at 10 AM. Aaron Cassely, Vice President, will present “Coping with R&D Roadblocks – Analytical Investigations into Contaminants, Unknowns and the Competition”, with case studies of non-routine problems and their solutions. The specific analytical technologies and methods of troubleshooting analytical challenges will be presented. To register for this seminar, contact Nick Bianchi at nbianchi@chemir.com or call 800-659-7659.
