Eric Uffman, Ph.D.

Dr. Uffman completed his course work at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where he concentrated in organic chemistry.  After earning his Ph.D, Dr. Uffman worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the laboratory of Professor Vladmir Birman at Washington University where he specialized in the catalysis of kinetic resolutions.  Dr. Uffman has had numerous papers published on topics in catalysis as it relates to the construction of chiral molecules.

In 2005, Dr. Uffman joined Chemir as a chemist and was promoted to Project Leader for the Customized Services Group in 2006, and to Vice President of Technology in 2009.  In this role he is  responsible for managing projects related to contaminant identification, failure analysis and deformulation. During his tenure, Dr. Uffman has managed a wide variety of projects from a diverse array of industries including pharmaceuticals, consumer products and industrial products.  He is adept at designing and executing experiments using a variety of methodologies and instruments including; NMR, HPLC, FT-IR, LC/MS, SEM/EDXA and UV-Vis.  As Project Leader, Dr. Uffman is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of his team’s work and defending project results in a legal environment.

While at Chemir, Dr. Uffman has participated in numerous litigation support activities including the design and preparation of investigative studies to providing expert testimony both in deposition and in the courtroom.  He has worked on jobs involving the analysis of food products, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and patent infingements.
