
Dr. Otten completed her course work at Washington University in St. Louis, MO where she wrote her dissertation on the Synthesis and Characterization of Boron-Based One-Dimensional Nanostructures. While completing her research, Dr. Otten developed a strong reputation in academia through active participation in various conferences and symposia. Highlights include presentations at the American Chemical Society national meeting in San Diego, CA and the Inorganic Gordon Research conference in Newport, RI. Other accomplishments include papers in well-respected publications such as the Journal of the American Chemical society and Applied Physics Letters.
In 2005, Dr. Otten joined Chemir where she now serves as Director-Specialized Services. In this roll she is responsible for managing projects related to contaminant indentification, failure analysis and deformulation. During her tenure, Dr. Otten has managed a wide variety of projects from many different industries including pharmaceuticals, consumer products and industrial products. Dr. Otten is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of her team's work and defending results in a legal environment.
Other accomplishments include research at Reliable Biopharmaceuticle Corporation in St. Louis, MO where Dr. Otten was involved in compound radiolabeling and anticoagulant investigations. Dr. Otten has alos been a course lecturer at Washington University, a participant in scientific writing organizations and has been a peer reviewer for the Journal of Solid State Chemistry and the Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids.
