Chemir Establishes Cyanta Drug Development Services
Chemir Analytical Services, a Maryland Heights, Mo-based chemical analysis and testing company has announced the establishment of a new company dedicated to solely serving the pharmaceutical industry, Cyanta Drug Development Services. Cyanta will specialize in providing testing services to pharmaceutical clients in support of their New Drug Applications (NDA), Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) and 510K Applications. Cyanta's specialization in pharmaceutical services will include analytical development, stability and method validation programs, formulation and deformulation studies, extractables and leachables and custom synthesis.
"Cyanta will continue to provide the high level of services that our pharmaceutical clients received from Chemir," said Shri Thanedar, Ph.D., and President of Chemir Analytical Services.
Since 1959, Chemir Analytical Services has provided analytical services to many different industries. The pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing communities recognized Chemir's talent for tackling complicated projects and providing customized solutions. The establishment of Cyanta grows out of Chemir's growing base of pharmaceutical and medical device clients.

Lawrence (Bob) R. Lima III, Ph.D. has been appointed Vice President of Pharmaceutical Services and will oversee operations at the new company.

The official launch for Cyanta is scheduled for the 2006 Association of American Pharmaceutical Scientists Annual Meeting and Exposition, to be held in San Antonio, Texas on Oct. 29 to Nov. 2. In 2007, Cyanta will move into its own facility located directly next door to Chemir's laboratories in Maryland Heights. Following renovation, the building will be dedicated to pharmaceutical and medical device analyses.
