Presentation for Midwest Cosmetic Chemists

March 20, 2008, St. Louis, MO –John Herries, Ph.D., Senior Director of Analytical Services, Chemir Analytical Services, will present an educational session at Teamworks 2008, the meeting of the Midwest chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in Chicago, IL, March 26, 2008. The presentation, “The Art and Science of Formulation” details the steps of successful formulations, beginning with targeting desired properties of a personal care product.  Dr. Herries will describe the various analytical tools utilized in a deformulation (reverse engineering) project.  This instrumentation is also used in solving problems, such a materials identification or quantitation.  Case studies illustrating product development solutions will be presented.
