What's New at Chemir Analytical Services

New Instrumentation

We recently expanded our problem solving capabilities, with the acquisition of a new Gas Chromatograph/Mass Selective Detector (GC/MSD). This instrument allows our scientists to better identify and quantify volatile components, in addition to enhancing reliability and lowering detection limits when analyzing complex matrices.

In addition, we recently installed a Multi-Functional Pyrolysis System, enhanced with a new Microbalance. Our plastic and polymer experts can now better characterize and quantify product’s components and additives from as small as 50 micrograms. The Pyrolysis/GC/MS allows for quantitative analysis by providing percentages of components.  This is useful data when helping companies troubleshoot “good” versus “bad” batches, characterize competitor’s products, and solve challenging manufacturing issues.

Employee Promotions

We are proud to announce the promotion of Hebi Bai, Ph.D. to the role of Science Fellow. Dr. Bai has been with our company for over 11 years. We are grateful for her expertise in polymer and coatings analysis, deformulation and her special expertise in polyurethanes.

Highlighted Services: Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices

Did you know that Chemir Analytical Services provides non-routine problem solving for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries? Our scientists bring a fresh perspective to difficult issues, and they enjoy the challenges of helping companies in these important industries. Chemir’s services to the pharmaceutical and device industries include deformulation (reverse engineering), materials characterization, failure analysis, contaminant identification, physical testing and polymer analysis as well as litigation support for patent infringement and product liability cases
