Grease Interceptor Testing by Chemir

Adds CSA Certification

ST. LOUIS (February 2010) —Chemir Analytical Services now certifies grease interceptors according to the specification of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). This is in addition to the Plumbing and Drainage Institute (PDI) and the International Association of Plumbers and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) grease trap certifications.
Chemir Analytical Services has been providing grease trap testing services for over 20 years.  “Manufacturers and owners of grease interceptors need to know that their models perform to CSA, PDI and IAPMO specifications,” explains Ila Sharma, Director of Technology, Chemir Analytical Services, “Chemir has been on the forefront of developing standards and streamlining methods for evaluating grease interceptors since the inception of grease trap testing.”

Manufacturers are required to periodically submit grease traps for testing. Chemir installs the trap into a compliant drainage system and verifies its capacity to efficiently remove grease to meet quality standards held by CSA, PDI and IAPMO. Using documented procedures, Chemir provides data needed to obtain and maintain certification for each unit design. This data ensures that a quality product is sold to the consumer.
